Sarajevo, with four municipalities in its composition, the Old City, Center, New City and New Sarajevo, represents population of around half a milion city.
Below the town the spring of river Buna is located. Beneath the cliffs higher than several hundred meters river Buna starts its journey. the capacity of the spring is 43 cubic meters per second and it represents one of the strongest karst waters in Europe.
“The city on river Neretva” is the biggest city in Herzegovina, and it is it’s economic, cultural and educational center. situated in the foothill of mountain Velež, in Mostar ravine and the vally of Neretva, at the average altitude of 59m.
The present name of the city comes from the Turkish word “tuz” which means “salt” and the settlement of Tuzla has always been related to the rich sources of salt water, and Tuzla itself has always been characteristic because of salt exploitation, and therefore it is no surprise that it is called “town on a grain of salt”.
